...the story you never knew...
Despite her poise and smile for the cameras, Jackie Kennedy's life
was far from perfect. Behind closed doors, Jackie struggled with bouts
of depression, endured a heartbreaking road to motherhood, and had
difficult relationships with those closest to her. As a wife devoted to
an unfaithful husband, she struggled with insecurities and humiliation.
She even wrestled with her own temptations for both other men and
divorce. Living in the public eye intensified her feelings of disgrace,
but Jackie clung to the belief that she could make JFK change. Through
the years, though, Jack Kennedy's lustful escapades grew in careless-
ness and frequency, and most needling for Jackie were his trysts with
Marilyn Monroe. Rumors, nude photos, and even Marilyn herself
tormented Jackie. When Marilyn becomes equally careless and unstable,
Jackie must decide how far she will go to protect the presidency and
to save her marriage.

Today it is 50 years since Marilyn Monroe died.
The death of 36-year-old Marilyn Monroe (born Norma Jeane Mortenson), made front page news five decades ago. It was Monroe's housekeeper who found her dead in her home, with empty pill bottles nearby.
The cause of death: "probable suicide."
For many, the suicide explanation seemed a little too neat and convenient. For starters, there was no suicide note and no liquid nearby she could have used to take the pills blamed for her death.
However There is a career after death, at least if while alive you wielded star power like Marilyn Monroe. She ranked third last year in Forbes' annual list of top deceased celebrity earners, generating $27 million.
Maybe she died so young to live in the hearts, minds, and imagination of others forever. On what would have been her 86th birthday, the memories of her are fully alive as are the mysteries.

Book: Marilyn By Magnum
I am reading this book now and find it very interesting. It gives a depth to the personality behind the star.
Fragments is an event--an unforgettable book that will redefine one of the greatest icons of the twentieth century and that, nearly fifty years after her death, will definitively reveal Marilyn Monroe's humanity.
Marilyn's image is so universal that we can't help but believe we know all there is to know of her. Every word and gesture made headlines and garnered controversy. Her serious gifts as an actor were sometimes eclipsed by her notoriety--and by the way the camera fell helplessly in love with her.
Beyond the headlines--and the too-familiar stories of heartbreak and desolation--was a woman far more curious, searching, witty, and hopeful than the one the world got to know. Now, for the first time, readers can meet the private Marilyn and understand her in a way we never have before. Fragments is an unprecedented collection of written artifacts--notes to herself, letters, even poems--in Marilyn's own handwriting, never before published, along with rarely seen intimate photos.
Jotted in notebooks, typed on paper, or written on hotel letterhead, these texts reveal a woman who loved deeply and strove to perfect her craft. They show a Marilyn Monroe unsparing in her analysis of her own life, but also playful, funny, and impossibly charming. The easy grace and deceptive lightness that made her performances indelible emerge on the page, as does the simmering tragedy that made her last appearances so affecting.

Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe
I must say i am really looking forward to see the movie 'My Week With Marilyn,' starring Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe. I do hope this movie actually will be better then all other movies that mostely failed big time with trying to do a biography about Marilyn.
The movie is an upcoming British drama film directed by Simon Curtis and written by Adrian Hodges. It stars Michelle Williams, Kenneth Branagh, Eddie Redmayne, Dominic Cooper and Emma Watson. Based on two books by Colin Clark, it depicts the making of the 1957 film The Prince and the Showgirl which starred Marilyn Monroe and Laurence Olivier. The film focuses on the week in which Monroe spent time being escorted around Britain by Clark, after her husband, Arthur Miller, left the country.
